Al’s
dad (AL SR.) pulled it out in Week 17 with a perfect 5-0 week. Congratulations to the father of Al. I mentioned a few weeks ago the contest would
inevitably come down to the last game to decide who would claim the top prize,
and it did. Al III’s grandpa trailed the
man with the heavy trousers (JAY STONES) by a half of a point going into the
Sunday night game between Dallas and Washington. Al’s dad was quoted before the game saying “This
one’s in the bag! When all a guy has to
do to win this contest is fade Tony Romo in Week 17 when the Cowboys control
their own destiny…somethin’ somethin’…candy from a baby.” It was only fitting that R.G. 3 would seal
the win for Al 3’s grandfather.
I
was a little off in my prediction that 51/85 would make the money this
year. There were 4 contestants whose
51.5 points apiece fell a half point short. As you can see, two contestants
tied for 20th place with 52 total points.
As
for the Mini Contest, 13 points takes the cake.
The contestant worthy of the $10K New Year’s bonus this year is BIG
LIB. In Weeks 16 and 17, this contestant
went a perfect 10-0! 22 contestants tied
for 1st loser in the Mini Contest with 12 points.

THE
BISNESS could just never get going this year.
Each 1 of us had at least 1 streak of 3 or more losses in a row. 2 of us had 4 game win streaks. 3 of us never had 3 or more wins in a row the
whole season. Well Chuck, how would you
sum up our performance this year? “Turrble
turrble turrble!”
A
couple of the members from the inaugural version of THE BISNESS who sat out
2012 have expressed interest for 2013. There’s
a decent chance we could be throwing Perry Platypus and Billy Baboon back into the
mix next year.
Let’s
look at how the Home/Road/Fav/Dog splits ended up.

Week
17 was a great week for the home teams as they went 11-5 against Super Contest
spreads. Home dogs and road favorites
finished at exactly 50/50 (45-45-2) for the season. Road dogs regressed the last half of the
season, but still stayed above the 53% threshold for the year at 54.1%. Fun Fact oF the day: If you would have blindly
flat bet road underdogs all year getting -110 lines on each one, you would have
made a marginal profit. Yippee Ki Yay!
Road
underdogs were the only split THE BISNESS picked at over 50% (65% - 13-7).

That’s
all for this year, folks. I may or may
not post a spread pick here and there to keep things interesting until next
year’s Super Contest. Maybe I’ll post my
favorite spread of the day and call it Dana’s Daily Dunkarooskyhammer. If this year’s Super Contest is any
indication, it’s guaranteed to hit at 47.0588%, not? :-O :-O :-O
Happy
New Year!
