"I'm going to tip my hat to the oddsmakers of the Super Contest for the Week 2 lines. After hours of research, I have locked in my pick: FALCONS -3.
The Denver Broncos (31-19 winner over Pitt) and the Atlanta Falcons
(40-24 winner @ KC) are both coming off impressive Week 1 wins. I will use my pick on
the home team in a indoor stadium that should be ROCKING on Monday night.
1) Quarterback play
Peyton Manning is Peyton Manning. He was very impressive in
the Week 1 victory. However, I think the crowd noise in the Georgia Dome
will be a factor in Peyton's audibles at the line of scrimmage. Also, how sore
is the 36 year-old after his first regular season game following an extended layoff?
Matt Ryan is one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the NFL. I know what his record is in the playoffs, but he still has plenty of years left in that right arm. In just their second year together, it appears Matt Ryan and Julio Jones (8 catches 108 yards 2 TD vs KC) could be one of the top QB/WR tandems in the NFL.

2)Style of play
The Denver defense is fun to watch. Where do I begin? You've got Von Miller(2
sacks vs Pitt), Dumervil, future Hall of Famer Champ Bailey, etc.... Who will
Champ line up against, Julio or Roddy White? You see what I'm saying? I look for Tony Gonzalez to
have a big game on Monday down the middle of the field along with whoever Champ isn't covering. Also, keep your
eye on the Falcons defense. John Abraham and Ray Edwards will create the pass
rush. At linebacker, Nicholas will hawk to the ball just like he did in Week 1 (12
total tackles), and the secondary led by Moore and DeCloud will be able to limit the effectiveness of Denver wideouts Eric Decker and D. Thomas.
3) What does the game mean to each team?
Both teams got off to good starts last week so I won't place any unnecessary emphasis on this. The hunger factor looks to be equal for each team.
It will be key for the Falcons to score first and feed off
the energy of the Home crowd."
Well, Herby didn't have to sweat his Jets pick in Week 1, as they jumped ahead big early and never looked back. We'll see if Ryan's rapture can peck Peyton's ponies to a pulp early and often on Monday night!
Stop by tomorrow for the rest of our picks, as the rest of THEBISNESS looks to rebound from a dismal 1-3-0 first week. See ya on the flip side!
