Week 15 Guessing of the Lines: LVH Super Contest

Guessing of the lines pick record: 27-17

I was very close to going 3-0 last week.  I hit the Jets and Panthers in the early session and then narrowly missed the Cardinals by 47.5 points in the late afternoon session.

Sometimes the lines can be tricky to guess at this point in the season.  It’s hard to gauge the motivation of teams that have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.  With that, let’s scope out the lines, my guessing proficiency, and my picks for Week 15.

Away Home  Guess SC Line
Bengals Eagles Bengals -3 Bengals -4
Giants Falcons PK Falcons -1.5
Broncos Ravens Ravens -1.5 Broncos -2.5
Pack Bears Bears -1 Pack -3
Redskins Browns PK PK
Colts Texans Texans -6 Texans -8
Jags Dolphins Dolphins -6.5 Dolphins -7
Bucs Saints Saints -4 Saints -3.5
Vikes Rams Rams -2 Rams -3
Lions Cards Lions -6 Lions -6
Seahawks Bills Seahawks -4.5 Seahawks -5.5
Panthers Chargers Chargers -3 Chargers -3
Steelers Cowboys Cowboys -1.5 Steelers -1.5
Chiefs Raiders Raiders -3 Raiders -3
49ers Pats Pats -4 Pats -5.5
Jets Titans Titans -3 Titans -2

Broncos @ Ravens

There should be no lack of motivation here.  The Broncos are gunning for the #1 overall seed in the AFC.  It will be tough to earn that seed since the team they would have to surpass (Texans) beat them in Week 3 of the season, and the Broncos are already 1 game behind the Texans in the standings.  The Ravens, on the other hand, have lost 2 straight, and they’re fighting for their division title.

I like the Broncos and hate the Ravens so this is tough for me to do, but I’m gonna take the home team.  The word on the street is Ray Lewis could be back for this game.  Look for him to provide a spark in the huddle for sure and perhaps on the field as well.  Take the Ravens.

Packers @ Bears

The Bears have lost 2 in a row, and the Packers have won 2 in a row.  The Bears looked bad last week @ the Vikings.  Cutler got knocked around again.  It just seems to me like the general public sees Green Bay making another late season push and Chicago making another late season fall.  I expect the public to be one-sided on the Packers.  Take the Bears at home!

Steelers @ Cowboys

This one is easy.  Take the Steelers.  Who do you want quarterbacking your team late in the 4th quarter, Tony Romo or Ben Roethlisberger?  I will take the clutch quarterback, better coach, and team that is better at grinding out wins late in the season.  There’s a reason why the Steelers are favored, folks!
