Week 11 Super Contest: Guessing of the Lines

Guessing of the Lines pick record: 20-10

I had another down week last week, so I guess it’s time to make excuses for my 2 incorrect picks.  The Bears QB got concussed, so that effectively voids my Bears pick.  The Panthers threw a fluke pick-6 and had a punt return for a TD against them, so that voids that pick.  I’m joking.  They were crappy picks no matter how you dissect them.

There happens to be 5 games I get to try my hand at this week.  Let’s see if I can get out of the gutter before Winter settles in and I freeze to death.

Away Home Guess SC Line
Dolphins Bills PK Bills -1.5
Cards Falcons Falcons -12 Falcons -9.5
Bucs Panthers Bucs -2 Bucs -1.5
Browns Cowboys Cowboys -10.5 Cowboys -7.5
Pack Lions Pack -4.5 Pack -3
Jags Texans Texans -17 Texans -15
Bengals Chiefs Bengals -4 Bengals -3
Jets Rams Rams -3 Rams -3
Eagles Redskins Redskins -5.5 Redskins -3.5
Saints Raiders Saints -6 Saints -4.5
Colts Pats Pats -7.5 Pats -9.5
Chargers Broncos Broncos -6.5 Broncos -7.5
Ravens Steelers Ravens -4 Ravens -3.5
Bears 49ers 49ers -4 49ers -4

Since there’s 5 games this week, I’ll keep these analyses short and shoot straight from my brain-heart.  Everyone’s probably a bit tired of me talking about this “Vegas” guy every week…ya know, the stuff about how he wants us to think THIS way about “his” NFL football games instead of THAT way, and what have you.  The point is: I have a way of determining which side I feel is the right side based on my perceptions of what spreads should be and what they actually are, so my analysis shouldn’t mean shit to you.  All that should matter is whether I get my picks right or wrong.  I hope you’re down for a change of pace.

Cardinals @ Falcons

The Cardinals suck.  Kevin Skelto-John-Kolb or whatever their QB’s name is doesn’t throw the football good.  They are travelling far East (not to China or nothing like that, just Atlanta) from the West to play football, really tough football.  Teams suck when they travel far East.  The Falcons are good, so good that they will win this game by 10 points or more.

Browns @ Cowboys

The Cowboys are really good because they beat the Eagles last week who are really good.  I’m joking.  The Browns are better than their record.  I’m not joking.  Go Browns.

Jags @ Texans

As my good buddy John Steinberg once said, “It’s the (bleep bleep) NFL! Anyone can win!”  “Anyone” includes the Jags, but just barely.  Go Jags.

Eagles @ Redskins

The Eagles have covered 1 HSC spread all year.  Nick Foles is playing QB for them this week.  Go Redskins.

Colts @ Pats

Why isn’t anyone giving the Colts any credit yet?  They crushed the Jags last week, and the Jags made the playoffs in 2007.  This score might be 100-96.  Go Colts.

How’s that for a Blazin’ 5, Cowherd?
