It's no surprise to me the Packers, Broncos, and Giants were picked roughly 200 times each.  In my Guessing of the Lines post this week, I rationalized why there would be a plethora of Packer-backers.  As for the Broncos, it seems like nothing can stop them.  They're winning games and covering spreads at an alarming rate, Harry!  And the Giants, it just seems like when they feel they "need" wins, they get wins.  Also, it's no surprise most people aren't buying the 11-2 Falcons.  Until they win in the playoffs, the majority of people just aren't going to give them much credit.

It IS a little surprising to me that so many contestants went against the Patriots this week.  I agree with the 49ers pick from the "the Patriots line will be inflated because they crushed one of the best teams in the NFL last week" perspective, but you're still taking a rookie QB against Tom Brady at home.  At 5.5, I suspect most of the sharps are on the 49ers side.  We'll have to wait 'til tonight to see if Tom can tear apart another top defense.

I see this week as Week 1 of the Mini Contest, not Week 15 of the Super Contest.  THE BISNESS will need 3, 4, or 5 points this week to give ourselves hope heading into Week 2 (Week 16) of the Mini Contest.  I say that because it generally takes 12+ points to win the Mini Contest.  With a record-shattering number of entries this year, it's my guess that 13 or more points will take the cake.

There doesn't seem to be any picking pattern amongst these guys.  I do see 2 PHIs and no CINs, so a couple of guys have an early 0-1 hole to dig themselves out of.
